Holiday Napkin Rings

Materials

Pipe Cleaners
Beads
toilet paper tubes

Directions

  1. For each napkin ring choose a pipe cleaner and some beads.
  2. String the beads on the pipe cleaner.
  3. When the pipe cleaner is full of beads, twist the ends so the beads can't slide off.
  4. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the toilet paper tube to shape it like a napkin ring.
  5. Slide the napkin ring off the tube and put a napkin through the ring.

Tips

  • If you want the finished napkin rings to match a theme, choose pipe cleaners and beads that are the right color.  For a Thanksgiving table you could put out orange and brown pipe cleaners.  For Christmas you might want to use silver and gold.
  • Older kids can get much more creative.  They can bend the pipe cleaner to create decorative shapes.  Or even use a second pipe cleaner with beads to create a special item to decorate the top of the napkin ring.  See pictures for ideas.
  • Use pipe cleaners to create initials for personalized napkin rings.
