Instructions

List simple memories from the past
Type them, printed them out, and cut up each sentence/paragraph with those funny border scissors.
Sort them by time, or into any groupings that make sense.
Glue them onto card stock. Add drawings, photos or other mementoes related to the memory.
Punched holes along the side of each page, put them together and tied them with a ribbon.

Hints:

This memory book could be made for a teacher by getting the children to list their favorite memory from the school year. It could be a field trip, science experiment, or the day Suzy threw up on the teacher!
Use the person's favorite colors to make a front and back cover.

Teacher's Gift

A visitor to our site sent in this idea.

To remember all the kids she had in her class this year, I put together a memory album for my son's second grade teacher. I took one photo of each kid in front of a nice background and developed the roll of film right away. I had many colors of scrapbooking paper cut into triangles for the kids to choose from and to write a message for the teacher on. Each kid also signed their whole name on their triangle. I then put the photos and the matching triangles together in a 7x7 Creative Memories album. I titled the first page "Mrs. Holder's Second Grade Class 2002-03". It was a big hit--especially since she is exchange teaching in Korea this year, and can share it with the kids there.

Anniversary Gift for Grandparents

This idea came from a visitor to Creative Kids at Home.

My parents were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. My sister and myself were the only 2 daughters they had and we both had 2 kids each.

Hence all 8 of us - 4 grandchildren,2 son-in-laws and 2 daughters set out to give them a gift for their wedding anniversary which will never be forgotten and which will be very unique :

We bought a notebook, covered it with nice wrapping paper and filled it with memories right from our childhood to the youngest grandkid's birth. The grand children also wrote small poetries, essays on the time spent with their grand parents. The youngest of them was just 2 and so we had his hand prints and foot prints in some special pages. Along with these we also stuck photographs selecting special ones from their wedding day until our wedding.

Finally it was presented after careful decorations. It is not necessary to say that they loved it and are still proudly showing it to all relatives who come to their home.
